Weird Way to Look at Art

How strange. One of my favorite content creators, Paper and Moose, on YouTube who resells people's throw aways just had a rather odd experience. She came upon a stack of paintings that she really liked. She started to put some of them in her car when the door to the adjacent house opened and someone came out asking what she was doing. She explained and, the person got upset that she was taking these paintings. They had been done by the father and this person did not want his stuff out there in the world. Paper was respectful and didn't take any others. But, she and I both felt this was rather odd. A painters work should be seen, even if just by the family. But why throw all that work out in the trash? Paper saw that there was another full container of more painings, sketching, etc. Sure she didn't know the history of the family but it seemed so sad to have a life's work just all thrown in the garbage. What are your thoughts on this?

Well, let's respect them. If we don't know the reason behind. We have different point of you.

@celticeagle Sorry I missed it. I thought it's a person who threw his paintings to garbage.

If they were in the trash, they're free to anyone who wants to take them. "The Supreme Court ruled that if you throw stuff away, you lose reasonable claims of ownership to it. What that means is stuff you find in a bin is fair game because people gave up ownership when they toss it away."

Who knows, maybe her father gave instructions that he wanted his work destroyed or something? But in that case the daughter should have made sure it was done and not just left them lying around.

If they're in the trash, they are available to be taken.
