Busy in the kitchen

I churned up the Devil's Food Chocolate ice cream base that I made on Sunday. It was super thick but hopefully it will still taste okay. I'm giving it to one of my pool buddies.
I now have Vivian Howard's Blueberry BBQ sauce (aka "blue Q") simmering on the stove. I'm very intrigued by this recipe from her Deep Run Roots cookbook. It will take some time to get it finished but I'm wide awake after spending most of the day asleep.
I might also get the bread and butter pickles done from the Smitten Kitchen website. They are easy enough to do and will be finished before the barbecue sauce is.
That's about as productive as I will be tonight. I have other things I need to do tomorrow to use up ingredients that are almost at the end of their useful life.

It all sounds delicious. I love homemade ice cream, and bread and butter pickles are my favorite pickle. Hey...with all of that time in the kitchen, did you get yourself fed? I would have been tempted to dive in to the ice cream!

You are very ambitious. That's the way I used to cook. On Saturdays I would cook for the whole week. By Wednesday my husband would say "What's to eat?"; and I'd want to bop him on the head. Everything you made/are making sounds good.
