Pigs in a Blanket

It's just good eats, and oh so simple. Pigs in a blanket, and a perfect meal that won't have too many leftovers that can't wait until we get back from our camping trip to be eaten up. Hell, we might even take them along for the road trip and snack on them on the way to the campsite an hour and a half away. We decided to have tater tots with them. I'll probably put some mustard on my dogs and have ketchup with my tots. I'll let you know later on what my cardiologist might think of this little belly filler. Meanwhile, what's going on your dinner table tonight besides @FourWalls elbows? Yeah, sorry...that's never going to get old.

Boca burger, grilled cheese sandwich, and a salad. And apples for dessert. And of course my elbows!

But of course. Like I said, that joke will never get old. Sort of on the same level as the Mike Walden joke on the Super Dave Osbourne skits when he would claim Super's safety gear was made out of genuine Saskatchewan seal skin bindings, which was funny because of course, Saskatchewan was land locked and had no seals to speak of. lol

Very easy meal and kids love it too! We stopped at Arby's on the way home from the flea market and Aldi's for gyros combo for me and the hubby got the hamburger combo.

@porwest They are not bad at all and just recently started putting more meat in them. Very filling. I can barely eat one.

@porwest They were better when they first come out in one way...they have now watered down the yogurt that they put on them. It's a bit too runny now.

It looks as if they are shivering in cold and are wrapped in a blanket

I love pigs in a blanket, and the meal holds special memories to me. My grandmother used to make them for us grandkids all the time when we would spend weekends with her. To my brother and I, it was a special treat, despite the simplicity of them.

@moffittjc Been a spell since my last batch of fish sticks. Now that I have just finished a bag of pizza rolls, maybe fish sticks should go on the list next?

I remember having these as a kid too, and it's definitely a "throwback" meal. I feel the same way when I eat fish sticks or egg in the middle. lol. They're still yummy as hell too.

I have seen tater tots used before but we don’t have them in the UK. Our pigs in blankets are sausages wrapped in bacon. Usually eaten with a carvery or at Christmas.

@porwest I like bacon …but I don’t think I would go that far ! Maybe I should start a campaign to get tater tots here ….i have seen them on several cookery shows.

@Traceyjayne Neither would I, honestly. lol But hey, maybe it's a business opportunity for you. Traceyjayne's Fabulous Tots. Remember, the key to successful business is solving a problem or filling a gap.

No tater tots in the UK? What gives. They are awesome little potato bites. Man, makes me not want to live in the UK just for that reason alone. I'd have to have some imported. lol As for bacon wrapped stuff...I cannot argue against that. Bacon is just so good, I could probably eat a bacon wrapped turd and enjoy it. lol

There are only 8 of those things that look quite suggestive but good enough to eat. Pigs in blankets are sausages wrapped in bacon, aren't they? They are at.xmad!! But who cares Let's not debate what we wrap our respective sausage with I like the look of your sausages - nice colour

I guess wrapped in bacon could be a version. Breakfast links wrapped with pancakes are also called "pigs in a blanket." These were wrapped in crescent roll dough. As for other certain sausage, I gave up wrapping that long ago. But I am glad you appreciated the color of my sausage (or in this case hot dogs). They were bun length too. I prefer the extra couple of inches. Much more filling.

I warmed up left overs as I needed to get out the door quickly to take two of my grandkids to church youth group. I recall my mom making pigs in a blanket when I was a child. I prefer the ones wrapped in bacon...those were always a hit when I went camping some years ago.

They look yummy. I sometimes use sausage with mustard. That blueberry cobbler I baked today is so good! I guess because the berries are fresh. For dinner we had pork chops, fried potatoes, fried okra, and tomatoes. Everything except the pork chops was from our garden. Although all this rain has messed up some things. The tomatoes aren't like they usually are and some of the potatoes are starting to rot.

Sausage and mustard just go hand in hand. Your dinner and cobbler sound delicious. Love okra even, ESPECIALLY fried.
