House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries is pulling a Cory Booker

He is using what is called the "Magic Minute" to speak on the House floor for as long as he can/wants to. It is a rule that is given to senior leaders in the House of Representatives. He has now been speaking for over 5 hours. I'm not an expert on this rule but it seems to be similar to what Senator Cory Booker did a month or two ago when he spoke for like 25 hours straight (breaking the Senate record) without sitting, using the bathroom, etc. It was a protest against this budget legislation. He said in later interviews that he had planned for it by fasting and dehydrating himself so he wouldn't have to use the bathroom. I have no idea how long Leader Jeffries plans to go on with this but he is buddies with Booker so who knows. (They did a sit-in on the Capitol steps last month) While I applaud his effort I don't understand the point other than it will delay the inevitable House "yes" vote of this disgusting bill. Trump has bullied the GOP wusses who opposed the bill into agreeing to vote for it despite how much it will harm their communities. We already know it is going to pass.

Yesterday I heard about a hospital in my area shutting down. The hospital is in a rural area toward the mountains. If it shuts down, people in medical crisis will have to get an hour South to get help. I don't know how they will do that. Totally off the wall scary times.
