It's Thursday Already

I can't believe it's already Thursday. I think I lost a day somewhere. Yesterday was a bad day for dad but I just got off the phone with mom and she said that today is better. He's feeling better and they're getting him ready to get some physical therapy done. I got the task of making hot dogs today and taking some up for him. I even took the initiative today and when Chris messaged me, I let it out how I felt lately. We've talked about it and we both agreed to try harder. We miss our friendship and I think life got crazy and she doesn't think about what she's saying and I don't say what's bothering me. It was a mix of things. I've been working on the shop. I'm putting some money aside where I can so I can save for an engraver. I really can't wait to get one. I think it'll boost my sales and just help my shop in general. Maybe with that I'll be able to save up for a building. I'm really looking forward to that. My hours for EMS changed tomorrow. Instead of being on a 911 truck I'll be on the day truck. I don't mind it, most of the time I can get my own work done lol but as it's the 4th of July we'll see how it works out lol. While I'm at Chris's today I'll be busting out the computer work. I'm close to amazon gift cards already again. If I keep this up I can expand my shop again with at least one thing soon. With Amazon's Prime Day being next weekend I'm super excited about the prospects. I might get the screen printing or maybe the plaster to do like hand molding...I was thinking about adding that. Something truly customized, yeah you can do it yourself but sometimes it's easier when someone else does it. My husband is loving his job right now. Yes, the hours vary and I don't know when he's going to be home most of the time but I expected it. I guess you could say that Jones Brothers prepared me for this. We had a talk about communication last night though. Letting me know that he was on his way home, when he was safe at the job site. Small things like that because I knew when he got into it that he was going to be busy and I understand it. Just like he understands when I get busy on a call at EMS and can't answer him right away. It is Christmas in July on Hallmark so needless to say I am loving it. This will definitely hold me over until actual Christmas. I am still reading Hidden Nature by Nora Roberts. I got one chapter done yesterday. It was enough to actually get me interested though. it's odd and I want to know more lol. I even cleaned up our room a lot so that next week I can start playing with my books. There's enough space that I can carve out an hour or so a day to pull down, organize and just relax. It's my thing and I miss it. There is still some things that I'm working on for the department. They're just not at the very top of my list. I'll get there and get done before the end of the year, maybe by the end of the month but I have to prioritize a few things ahead of that. EMR class should start soon, I need two CPR classes to teach and I'll be in the new AEMT class coming up. Not to mention I'm still looking for the TOSHA class I need for the Safety Officer position. I don't think I've slowed down but I have found time for everything. I've prioritized and made time for what's important. My husband and I wake up early in the morning just to spend time together. An hour of quiet just for us. Then we have time with the cats which we love so much and our dog. Yes we're up like an hour or two earlier than either of us absolutely have to be but the time we have together in the morning is priceless. if it wasn't for that I truly think we wouldn't really see each other at all. The thing I've really been trying to do is make time. It's important to remember what's important. What is everyone else doing?

I'm glad your dad is better; and I'm glad that you are prioritizing and making time for you and your husband. That's very important. I have no plans for today.

I'm working on it. There's just a lot going on and we're going to be phasing into another bout of crazy soon.

Nice to hear that your dad is doing better. Friendship is complex. Glad you two can talk it out like that. What a busy life with husband with a new job and all the rest. Christmas in July sounds fun. I love to watch QVC in July for that as well.

I don't think I know how to not be busy. If I didn't have something to do I'd be lost lol. I have a fondness for Christmas in July on Hallmark. Some of them I've watched with dad and sometimes I can watch one or two with mom and it's time we don't spend arguing lol.

When it comes to making up, we talked things out and we both agreed to try harder. I'm hopeful about getting my friend back. I find that it's hard to prioritize but I'm doing it. Books are my happy place and starting next week I'm making time to just sort and organize mine again. I've been taking about an hour at night to read if I don't work EMS.
