The feeling of not getting an email or call for an interview, or when you do get an interview, you dont hear good news. Its really disheartening. Anyone have any advice for someone in a job hunt?

Patience and persistence. Don't give up, keep trying. You'll get there eventually.

Just be patient. It's all you can do. And when you get the new job, make sure you put away at least 6 months worth of income into an emergency fund if you haven't done that before this period of unemployment. And beyond that, best of luck to you.

@programmerprimo The key here is that everyone will be unemployed from time to time, so having an emergency fund really helps to replace the lost income. If one can get unemployment benefits, it just gives you more time before you have to hit the emergency fund. Doesn't help you get employed now, or even your current situation. But as most things are, life is full of lessons, and the next time it happens you will simply be better prepared the next time...and there WILL be a next time.

It’s tough.. really tough.. but you’re not alone. Try Networking. reach out to contacts or even cold-message on LinkedIn. Don’t let rejections define your worth. The right fit is still out there. Keep going.

Maybe widen your job search By that I mean taking any job at all Because it is easier to get another job when you are in work Than get a job whilst unemployed If it was me, I'd be looking at the likes of McDonalds. Lots of hours Decent money. How much money do you get for unemployment

@programmerprimo Then go and take the first full time job you can get . Because the longer you are unemployed, the harder it is to get work.
