Going to attempt sourdough starter again

Like everyone else I tried it during COVID and it was a total fail. I recently received "The Perfect Loaf" cookbook last week but had to wait to get rye flour in order to make the starter.
I'm hoping that this one will be more successful now that I have this book to guide me. I've also seen many recipes lately for sourdough discard which also was a concern for me. Why keep throwing away so much? Well now there are options to make things like waffles or cinnamon rolls. I like that.
Stay tuned!

In my younger years, I was more willing to experiment with different dough types. Sourdough wasn't my favorite although I do like it as a sandwich bread but not enough to make it myself.
Good luck with your bread making!

I remember many years ago when we had sourdough starter at work. Soon the starter grew to mammoth proportions; and there was no longer anyone to share it with.
