of all of the places she could go. . . why there? I don't know who she is going with or why. My guess is my second parents but it could be with someone else. I don't know since I don't speak to her on a regular basis. We have a very strained relationship. Somehow it got even worse after my dad passed. I texted her an Instagram video about teachers in the summer that I thought was funny. Apparently she thought it was too. She then said she hoped I was feeling better so apparently my second mom told her I was sick. Interesting that my 2nd mom stopped by with food and she never even bothered to text me, right? Anyway she said she was headed to South Dakota and would be back in a week. Fine. Have fun seeing Mount Rushmore and. . . ???? who the hell knows what else. I'd rather take a bullet in the head than have to sit in a car for so many hours just to see that monument. Send me a picture. I said the same thing when we were in Vegas and my ex and friend decided to drive almost 5 hours each way to see the Grand Canyon. Hell no. Send me a picture.

I’m glad your second mom is around to show concern.

Pretty and I spent a couple of days at the Grand Canyon when she was around 7 years old. We drove out to see the Pacific Ocean and made several stops on our way back to Missouri again. We liked going places we'd never been just to see what all the fuss was about. Pretty made a good traveling companion, chattering about whatever she could see from the car windows... We stopped at several of the different roadside stands in Native American territory... She wanted some Jade jewelry but wanted to bargain with the people without me interfering. I'd stay by the car while she looked at their selections, choose something she wanted and then told them I'd given her $5 to buy something with... They looked at what she'd picked out and take her $5 for the item... and we'd move on to another stand. She cheated those poor people left and right. *shake my head*

Hey, South Dakota is nice! I had a great time there. A completely different landscape than what I was used to. Badlands National Park was amazing.

The first glimpse of the Grand Canyon was breathtaking; and what struck me was the intense silence....No bird noises...nothing. I could pass on Mount Rushmore. There are other things I'd like to see first.
