I Broke My Own Rule

My rule is to ALWAYS check the receipt before I leave the store to make sure all discounts were applied and all prices look correct, etc.
But yesterday, at my favorite Walgreens, I presented a coupon for a $10 reward on a future purchase if I spent $45 in yesterday's purchase. I made sure to spend the $45 and I saw the cashier scan my coupon.
And then I walked out without looking at my receipt.
The $10 wasn't credited to my future rewards and there's no way now for me to go back and claim it because he took the coupon.
Lesson learned. ALWAYS check the receipt before you leave the store.
Do you check your receipts?

I used to. Now I order my groceries and pharmaceuticals online.

I usually do. Occasionally, I’ll catch it when I go home, and I will go back the next day if not that day. Once, I realized Walmart charged me for 2 watermelon when I only had one, so I went back the next day and they refunded the money (that surprised me). However, usually I check right after I get it.

Almost always I will look at my receipts before exiting the store. Not always, but most of the time, especially if it is a big purchase.

Ouch
I check our receipts before we say bye bye to the person at the till
It seems quite easy for stores to overcharge us
The best one is when they charge more than the ticket on the shelf says
I have caught a few shops out like that

Usually I do check them in the car but not always. Only time there was a problem it was with their system not registering the discounts and it said so on the receipt and said how to fix it by calling.

Usually, especially if I think something has been rung wrong or the receipt seems suspiciously high.

Isn’t that always the way? You check 99 receipts and they are fine. The one you don’t check isn’t. As it’s $10, if the store isn’t far away, I would go back and try to get the credit.

I usually watch them ring it up. I've caught a lot of things that way.
