One of the most memorable parts of my recent Singapore trip was spending time at Jewel Changi Airport. I’ve heard a lot about it before, but seeing it in person was something else.
I arrived at around 12 midnight, and instead of heading straight to the hotel, I decided to stay — yes, for 10 hours — just to wait for the Rain Vortex to open and see it come to life. And let me tell you, it was worth every hour of waiting.
The moment the waterfall started flowing, right in the middle of that massive indoor forest, I was just in awe. It’s the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, surrounded by lush greenery and peaceful lighting. Being there so early in the morning, with fewer people around, made the experience feel even more surreal and calming.
Jewel isn’t just part of the airport — it’s a destination on its own. I spent time walking through the garden paths, checking out the shops, and just sitting near the falls to take it all in. Honestly, it didn’t feel like I was in an airport at all.
We came back again on our last day in Singapore, just before our flight home, to take one last look. It felt like the perfect way to bookend the trip — peaceful and unforgettable.

It was a decade ago when I visited Singapore. Planning to go back there.

@cherigucchi Their airport has impressively improved a lot that they have a large mall with indoor falls.

This is my second visit here. After a decade, there have been improvements in the facilities and transport system, which has become more convenient and accessible. I am highly impressed by their government. I interviewed my cousin, who has been a long-time resident. The benefits they are enjoying are truly exceptional compared to ours

I'm glad you enjoyed your second trip! I'm sure I would have enjoyed seeing the forest and waterfall, too.
