Firefighters with the St. Clair Fire Department are recognizing a Michigan resident who resides near Detroit when a driver whose name and gender were not released drove an auto into Lake St. Clair on Saturday July 5.
The name of the man who risked his life to jump into the lake to rescue the driver was bystander Richard Moore who was able to pull the driver out of the lake safely.
How did the auto wind up in the lake is being investigated by the authorities.
The driver involved in the accident was taken by an ambulance to a local hospital to be examined by the physicians.
First responders arrived on the scene of the accident to find the auto underwater. One firefighter was injured from broken glasses searching for other occupants only to find out that the driver of the auto was the only person needed to be rescued.

This is one of the things I'm afraid of. Being in an auto in the water. I'm glad Richard was able to save the driver.

A nasty incident, and it was good the man was rescued, and I guess the car had to be searched for other people, and it was not so good that a firefighter was injured, by broken glass.

The firefighter was looking for other persons who the firefighter thought may have been inside the auto but thank goodness no one was inside the auto.

You are right since being underwater aboard an auto is scary.

@Ineeddentures That is a good question why this happened.

Yes
I wonder though if some cars would be completely watertight and not let any water in
