Back Ache.

My upper back is terribly aching today, and it’s making everything feel a bit harder—sitting, standing, even just thinking clearly. I’m guessing it might be due to poor posture or perhaps one of those random body aches that sneak up on you.
Is it related to my being awake since 3:30 in the morning? But I just lay down on my bed trying to get to sleep. I did not even use my phone at that time.
I’ve tried stretching a bit a while ago. I will try using a warm compress later.
I hope the discomfort and pain will be gone soon.

I hope you used some pain reliever for your back ache... You might ask your hubby to do a very gentle massage and see if that helps, too.
My sciatic nerve is acting up again. I'm having trouble walking and sitting down. When I got in bed, it hurt to swing my left leg up onto the mattress... I took pain reliever but it's not helping much.

Wrong postures are definitely one of the culprits. We don't even realize how long we have been in that position until it really gets to the edge.
I don't think it has anything to do with your being awake early morning.

@rakski Could be. Yes. Try to be in a more correct posture and then you can see if you start feeling better.

A million years ago when I actually had to go to work and be productive, I would lay on a hard surface when my upper back hurt.
I'd rest my head on a thick sponge and concentrate on relaxing every muscle and stay perfectly still for as long as I could stand it. I would lay on a tennis ball in times of bad pain, moving it to trouble spots and then relaxing. After some time, I'd always feel a little better.

Take a nap, and before that have a warm bath I'm sure you'll feel relaxed.

The back may seem like the least dramatic part of the body to complain about—but when it starts acting up, everything feels off. It’s like your whole system gets thrown out of rhythm. Even something as simple as sitting still becomes a challenge, and it can cloud your focus and mood too.
Lack of sleep can definitely make it worse. Even if you were just lying in bed awake, the tension from not getting proper rest can build up and settle in your upper back, especially if posture wasn’t ideal while lying down. It’s good that you’re doing some gentle stretching and planning a warm compress—those can really help ease the tightness.
Hopefully, with a bit of care and rest, the ache lets up soon. Until then, go easy on yourself. When the back speaks, it deserves to be heard.

@rakski It's encouraging to know that getting some rest helped you feel better. But since they are the ones that gradually regress as the years pass, I believe you should be on the lookout for it as you get older. These subtle cues might indicate that you should slow down and pay more attention to the state of your back.

Yes, try using a warm compress. Apply it for 15–20 minutes at a time to loosen tight muscles and increase circulation.
