Just wanted to share something that really warmed my heart. Someone here on MyLot recently encouraged me to consider writing a book. I honestly wasn’t expecting that. It’s one thing to write little thoughts and reflections here, but to be told that maybe—just maybe—I could take it further? That really meant a lot.
To that person (you know who you are), thank you. Thank you for seeing something in me that I haven’t fully seen in myself. Your words stuck with me. I’m not sure how or where to begin, but I’m thinking about it. Maybe one day, I’ll find the courage and clarity to make it happen. And if I do, it’ll be because someone believed in me when I was still doubting myself.
Here’s to little nudges that plant big dreams.

Now some reality check - while it is encouraging to pen down your thoughts/experience etc, it is equally frustrating to become a published author, as the journey isn't a straight path. Unless you know someone from that circle. My cousin is an author & I have seen how frustrated he was, when he couldn't secure a Publisher for his 2nd novel. And by publisher, I mean TRADITIONAL PUBLISHER, where the publisher invests in your work. Else vanity publishing or self-publishing platforms are there to get your work out on shelves in exchange of a hefty fees. But then again, it gets stuck in distribution mess. So, ultimately, writing & publishing a book becomes one of the "ticked" item in your To-Do list. If you really want to become an author, then its not that easy...

That's exactly what I've been thinking about too. Since writing isn't the profession I pursued in my career, it's something I really need to consider carefully. I'm truly grateful to the person who recognized my potential and encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. This has happened twice now—once when a former Mylotter pointed it out to me, and then again when someone else challenged me, which I deeply appreciated. I also value the insights you've shared about the realities of being a writer or author. It's definitely something that requires thoughtful consideration right now.

Just MY thoughts, if I were in your place I would have mentioned the username and the display name of the user who inspired and encouraged you to write a book, instead of saying you know who you are. I mean this gives a good feeling to that person too. Please don't mind as I am just expressing MY FEELINGS.
Now coming to your topic, yes it is not easy to write a book. We all start discussions, write comments and replies. This is another thing. Many of us write here casually, many of us don't even care about the grammar or the spelling mistakes or the typos (can happen with everyone). We all understand this and move ahead. But none of this has any place in a book.

I share the same thoughts; a book is not something that can be created in just one moment, especially since I’m not a writer myself. What truly inspires me is that someone recognized the potential in my writing and appreciated my ability to take on such a challenge. Right now, I’m deeply reflecting on whether I have the ideas and drive to pursue it.
Regarding the identity of the person, I have already informed her/him about this post. He/She requested not to be mentioned, and I’ve respected him/her wishes by thanking her/him here instead. He/She also expressed that he/she does not plan to reply to this post, and I fully honor his/her decision.

Why don't you try. There are many publishing sites unless it's not your passion to write a book. Start by writing only few pages. Should you want to become a publisher, do it in the Philippines. Write a book needed by schools in the DepEd for example likel the subject math, police report writing book for criminology students, writing across the disciplines and more. After you're through a book submit it to National Bookstore or at Rex Bookstore via IDF or USB. They're going to edit your book before publicising. Two options, 1. to receive a 25 % royalty for the entire sales. They'll be the one to publish and sellh your book school to school, 2, or it's you to sell your book let the bookstore published and pay them.
Why I knew this, I am a book editor of 'Rizal Most Remembered Hero' and 'Antique'. They're published at Rex Bookstore. Don't write a book for someone else interest.

I love your post and your thoughts on this. Many of us have good things to share and we don’t share them for whatever our personal reasons are. Follow your heart and you will find a way.
