Remember my last post about having the dinner ready?
It gets me into trouble now!
I actually posted it on our family's group chat in messenger inviting my 2 girls and showing them that dinner was ready. They are living separately and only come home on weekends. One of them replied that how they wished they were here to join with us.
I promised them that I would be preparing a good dinner for them this coming Saturday. But since they are very excited to know that, they are coming home tonight!!!
The problem is, I have not had anything in my fridge and I planned to do the grocery on early Saturday morning. I am still attending the last day of the seminar today and it would last until 5 pm. I also have overtime work tomorrow from 10 in the morning up to 2 in the afternoon.
Now, after clocking out today...I have to run to the grocery store, find something to prepare and rush home to prepare dinner before they arrive!
Wish me luck!

I'm sure you'll manage... You could always take them out to dinner if you really don't have time to make something before they get home.1 person likes this

Kids love and miss my cooking especially the girls.
I don't mind at all, at least though how big they have grown, they always find something to come back home.

@cherigucchi I'd rather my kids miss me more than miss my cooking, but anything that brings them home once in a while is good.

Oh no—the classic “Come home, dinner’s ready!” message has turned into a “Surprise, we’re actually coming!” family plot twist!
But hey, it just proves how much your girls miss the comfort of home (and maybe your cooking—no pressure!). It’s hilarious how one simple message can spiral into a full-blown family reunion prep, complete with a dash of panic and a sprinkle of “What’s in the fridge?!”
This is the magic of family—chaotic, unpredictable, and overflowing with love. Sure, you might be tired from the seminar, scrambling through grocery aisles like a contestant on a game show, but when they walk in and smell that dinner—even if it’s just canned tuna with a gourmet twist—it’ll all be worth it.
Sending you luck and laughter through it all. Remember, it’s not the menu that counts; it’s the togetherness—and the stories you’ll laugh about later. You’ve got this, Chef Parent Extraordinaire!

It turned out perfectly well. The atmosphere was festive and I had to hide the exhaustion on my part
Its worth all the effort when it comes to family. This is something priceless as we created another memories that we could always look back.

@cherigucchi Thats nice to know it went well. I suppose that no matter how busy we are, family always comes first.
