It is once again Monday morning but it's not a depressing I have to go back to work Monday. Nope it's a good Monday.
The weekend was great. Instead of going to training Saturday we went up and saw my dad. It was totally worth it. He's had a few bad days but hopefully they're behind us now with this new medication.
His heart rate was still going too high and his blood pressure too low. To counteract it they put him on another heart med and magnesium. As of last night he was doing good, he was even exercising.
Saturday evening was the Fire Department's Fourth of July party. It was good. I'll give Alex credit for the relay games but that's about it. I'm still really salty about what he did. I didn't stay for clean up, I actually couldn't even get out of the camping chair I was in for the fireworks. My back is just being annoying.
I had my meeting with my lieutenant in between the hospital and the party. It did not go that well. Everything is backwards and the only thing he ended up liking is the mental health binder that I had made up. I was told to take my ideas to the Lieutenant over Recruitment and Retention because technically that's public outreach.
That usually means that you would make the call. I hadn't even left the station and he had already called Andrew so when I told him we needed to talk, I got that he already got called. I was livid. Like why would you do that? Maybe I had a few things to do before I talked to him seeing as what I knew was slightly wrong. I had finishing touches and changes to make.
So wrong.
We had the department meeting yesterday afternoon. That was fun. Things are changing and I wish I could be in there when they were discussing them but I can't. I'm hoping that I can help bring a few changes in.
I'm part of the committee that will be looking at our SOG's next year. Hopefully I can bring some insight to it unlike the last time they were changed.
Today I will be at Chris's. She's at a concert so I said I would work today. it wasn't a big deal and the extra day will help me make a payment on my car.
While at Chris's I need to find my sources for my metal health binder. My lieutenant wants to do his own research. If he takes credit I'm going to be highly annoyed.
I also have the regular computer work to do. It's helped out a lot, especially on Prime Days because I got my mattress and a new back pack. Hubby was worried about how heavy my pack was with my back already hurt and he can't be here...isn't he sweet lol...so I got a rolling back pack. The best part is I can still pick it up like a normal backpack once my back is ok again.
I was going to try to go to training tonight but I think I'm just going to go see my dad because I won't tomorrow. I have to go to inservice for EMS as I missed last month's and it helps me keep up with my CEUs.
I have a couple orders to finish for the shop. The tumblers for the cornhole tournament went over great so I was happy about that. Not that I got any actual credit for it but hey, I did my own ad on that. Now there's two shirts and a windspinner that needs done.
Now that our account is back in the black everything that bounced has been rolling in and it's been hard to keep up with it. We'll get there I know we will but it's just hard.
Last night I actually got to read. My husband said that I needed to do something for myself. I said what is that? If I'm not working on my email to make a little money, I'm researching something for the department or studying to get ahead on the AEMT class or making a to do list or thinking of a to do list. I don't do for me anymore, so last night my husband told me that I wasn't allowed to do any of that so I got to read and relax.
With everything going on today and for the foreseeable future I was happy about that lol.
What is everyone else up to?
It's 7am here and it actually feels pretty nice out. I know it'll get hotter and storms are supposed to be rolling in.

Must be “bad back” time. My back is acting up, too.
I went on a little jaunt that got cut short by the back acting up, but I still had a great time.

I just woke up one morning and couldn't move right. Now it picks what I can do and when I can do it. It's so weird but I'm making do. I hope yours starts to feel better soon.

@JordanLader -- thanks, mine is "mostly" better now. It doesn't take me two minutes to stand up today the way it did yesterday. This old age stuff is for the birds.

I hope that your dad has many more good days ahead and you have some great memories. I hope you get your training done and out of the way. Doing something for you is important for the psyche.

It's not something that I've been doing so it was weird but good. Maybe again tonight I don't know yet.

I'm happy to hear that your Monday is off to a good start and that your dad is doing better. With everything you have going on it's especially nice to hear that you found time to read n relax.

My husband actually thought about it last night when I said something about what it meant to have time for me. He was like you really have been on a roll and he actually put the book in my hand. He's trying to take care of me lol.
