How do you get motivated when you have none?

I can do well with certain things when I feel motivated, and sometimes small wins or small successes can be motivating for awhile, but sooner or later, usually sooner with me, the lose their luster. How do you motivate yourself when you just aren't feeling it?

It isn't even so much that I dislike it, but I just don't want to do it. I would rather work on making money, or goof off. Like with organizing my pantry I have tried doing it by shelf but it really needs for everything to be taken out and just organized in a way that makes sense. I dont even know what all is in there. I just keep adding to it.

@snowy22315 - This is something I was obliged to do because we moved. My side is still well organized. My husband already messed up his side.

To me music helps. There awesome Bollywood songs that really lift up your mood. They aren't really love songs, but songs that speak the positive side of yourself. And how you are VERY EASILY the best person in the WORLD. Believe me. It helps.

You are right music is motivating especially when it comes to cleaning or doing things of that sort.

@snowy22315 Yes correct. But I didn't get your "cleaning" reference here.

All expensive rewards...or things I really shouldn't be doing. Honestly, if I feel like doing those things I do them. If I told myself I couldn't do them unless I got X accomplished..not sure how I would feel. Perhaps worth a try.

@snowy22315 Think small treats; ice cream, candy bar, new book, etc.

I just get started and then it seems easier.

Yes, sometimes just diving in is the best. I was working on the table today. Just about done.

I do small things until I either feel motivated or I just have to get it done. I've had to push it the past month or so, so I know the feeling. However we can do it lol...hopefully.

Small changes lead to big ones over time. So they say anyway.

@snowy22315 That's what they say. I think sometimes they happen without us realizing it and sometimes that's the best way

Forcibly. I MAKE myself do it. And I pray for energy/motivation to do it.

Not too pleasant, but I suppose it works. The problem though is if you aren't enjoying it, you probably won't stick with it.

I am rather hard on myself. Some things are just not ever going to get done unless I do them myself. And of course, no one likes unpleasant tasks, but then again someone has to do them...and mostly, that someone is me. I know it can be difficult to be motivated.

Like if someone was coming over it would be different, but probably nobody until the weekend.
