Salad is the Bomb Dot Com

I suppose I could focus on the baked chicken thighs we are having for dinner tonight seasoned with onion powder, pepper and Red Lobster seafood seasoning. No, no. It says seafood seasoning, but it's very universal. Trust me. And tastes awesome on fish and, yes, on chicken. I could even focus on the baked potatoes we will have which we will have with sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese and bacon bits. But no, I am not going to focus on that either. I am focused on the garden salad. Iceberg lettuce, sliced tomatoes, sliced hard-boiled egg, chopped red onion and sliced cucumber that we will have with croutons, shredded cheese, bacon bits. It's the bomb dot com. I will have mine with Ranch. My wife will have French. All of it should be really good eats. So, when you make a salad like this, what do you like on it or in it? Do tell.

I don’t do dressing much so I would probably have mayo.

@porwest we don’t have your ranch dressing here, any dressings that are shop bought tend to be oil based and quite runny, In the UK it is quite normal to have mayo on these salads.

Hmm. Mayo hey? On a salad like this? I have never heard of anyone using mayo on a garden salad, but I won't knock it either.

I'm just curious to know what's an iceberg lettuce. A lettuce frozen? Sorry for my innocence.

It's just a particular style of lettuce. I am sure you have it there. You might just call it something else.

My favorite salad is on a grilled burger patty. In a traditional salad, I like celery, green onions, hard boiled eggs, tomato wedges, mushrooms and shredded taco mix cheese on iceberg lettuce with a mix of French and ranch dressing sprinkled with lemon pepper. I like bacon bits too but it's not the norm. That sounds like a delicious dinner.

That all sounds good in a salad too. I'm not real picky when it comes to what to put in or on a salad.

@porwest Yeah, I will sometimes even slice up deli meat. Pretty much anything.

I would probably use Italian dressing but it doesn't matter much to me.

Everyone's got their preference when it comes to dressing. My wife mostly likes French or Thousand Island. I'm almost exclusively Ranch, but sometimes like Blue Cheese.

Showing your age with that phrase there sir. I stocked up on that seafood seasoning at DT, got like six bottles for $1.25 ea. I've had salad last night and tonight. Chopped salad with bacon, tortilla strips, rice, taco meat, cheese and avocado ranch

I like as much crap on my salad as I can find. Instead of iceberg, I like to use broccoli.

To me, without lettuce, it would be a different kind of salad, but it doesn't mean it wouldn't be good. I like a well loaded salad too. The more stuff the better.

Salads are just always a good side to me, and we eat them quite a lot. And of course, sometimes beefed up for dinner is good too.
