Finally a well-deserved break.

I can hope at least. I've been busy since we got up today. Got the shopping done, cold stuff in the fridge and freezer landry changed over. George taken care of and finally myself. I feel like I ran a marathon. The woman running self-check out was not happy that I used one of the self-check out mechines. Well, too bad. Using a belt isn't accessible for me. Nothing against cashiers, but honestly, I'm blind. I use a wheelchair and I can't get things out of a grocery cart and put them on the belt. Addationally as a blind person I need to know where things are. If I let a cashier do it, I won't know what's where because they don't tell me or ask me what I want in a bag and what I don't. I'm the one who's got to unload everything from the van. If I could navigate walmart by myself, I'd start having George take me there because dam..... I can use my otc card at self-checkout, without help.

I remember my mom would get so upset with how baggers would sack her groceries. And, she could see! These people need to get a clue. I'm sorry you had that experience. Why would she get mad? Weird.

I think she was having a bad day and the machine kept telling me to put stuff in the bagging area. Which I do, but it's a scale system and if it doesn't detect the weight of the items you put on it, it tends to act up. She kept saying what I was doing was throwing off the thing, and I'd just done what I always do. Sure it'll tell me to put stuff in the bagging area , but today I just got a self-check out cashier with an aditude.

You have a lot on your plate. You do an amazing job at smoothing out all the tasks necessary, despite your vision and mobility issues. I admire your drive and determination. It's shameful that in a store that offers self-checkout, they frown on or discourage your use of a system of checkout that the store put in place.

They get mad because of how I use it. Well, normally it's not a problem. The girl working self-check out today was just not in a good mood. Telling me what'd be easier for me. I call bs on that. I've used it every time I've shopped there, even before the stroke when George was more helpful.

@kaylachan You use it so that it makes it easier for you. They have monitors, they have cameras. It's not like you're attempting to game their system to steal product. I understand how people get into bad moods but taking it out on customers is just plain wrong. They shouldn't work in a place that is filled with customers if they can't leave their mood outside of work.

We got a Walmart order on the way because with my sunburn and the amount of pain I'm in I wasnt feeling like walking around Walmart getting everything. But sounds like you deserve a break for sure.

I can imagine that loading stuff onto the belt would be problematic for you Kayla.

Yeah. asiles are more than wide enough to get a cart and a wheelchair through, but are not designed to be able to get around them.
