How often does free make you switch?

So I use CeraVe moisturizer at night (I know men really care about this subject), and it works incredibly well for me. It took me forever to find the best kind for my skin. However, I received this Pacifica moisturizer for free, and while I’ll continue the CeraVe night cream in the evening, I think I’ll go with this one (I really like that their products are vegan and cruelty free) in the mornings now.
My question is, how often do you switch products based on something you got for free? Free from a company, sure, but maybe free from a friend, family member, donation…

When I was younger, I used to date women. I just paid the price, whatever it was.
Then I met my wife. Well, future wife. When she said yes, I got her at no cost initially.
Her companionship was far superior to the previous dating partners that I was paying for, so I was happy getting her for free.
Then I read the small print. Things that are offered for free usually end up costing you money if you continue to use it.
Although after 41 years, I'm still content with the quality, there have been many many fees associated with maintaining her.
Overall, I'm happy with the new product, even if it's costs the same, if not more than my previous brands.
I can't comment on moisturizer products but there is a reason that markets offer free samples. They hope you'll purchase the product and then continue to use it.
Freebies from friends or relatives are nice. They have no use for them and most often, there are no strings attached.
Your skin looks lovely today btw.

@Vikingswest1 I have had mine rejected as well on Amazon. But I wrote one and worked in Agnes Kravitz from Bewitched that I felt really good about, and I thought for sure it would be rejected. I didn’t know if the person from another country reading it would know who that was!

Hahah
I write reviews too. Mostly Amazon, Walmart and Safeway.
I can be harsh on some but I always write my honest opinion. Some are even rejected, lol.

It depends on what it is and how well I like the product. (I usually don't notice if they're vegan friendly as I'm a carnivore...) Pretty gets some stuff from manufacturers for free and switches us to it after she tries it and then has me try it. (There are a few products that I didn't like so we buy one thing for me and one thing for her.

I tried some free L'Oreal retinol cream, but it irritated my skin. I do well with Cera Ve.

If freebies from relatives, I readily accept them. But from sellers, I am usually reluctant to do so. If someone accepted the product and it has been proven to work, then perhaps the next time, I will accept a well. Nevertheless, there are times when I cannot resist free offers, especially if it's something I often use.

If I really need to use the product, I would take the free offer.

I can't remember the last time I received something for free. I'm glad you found something that works for you.

I'm a man I have never been using moisturizer. But receiving anything for free, I love to accept it.
