Question For A Numbers Strategist...

I have never been good at math or figuring such things but, I have been wondering about something. What is your opinion on this? If a person came up with 5 or 6 numbers and used them to play the lottery would this person be more apt to win if they continued to use those same numbers continuously , or, would this person be better off to pick a new series of numbers each time they played? What do you think?

I never play lottery. The odds of actually winning are definitely NOT in your favor.

I have played the same numbers since 1989. The most I've won is $70. My odds are the same as everyone else's I think.

I used to win quite often until a lot more people starting playing.

You asked a good question. I always go random plus some regular numbers just for fun. The highest amount I ever win for the lottery is a thousand dollars.

That's better than I have done. Usually only about $50. That's before a lot more people starting playing.

@celticeagle That was really lucky or unlucky for me. I missed the top prize (6 digits) by 1 number. The top prize of that draw was $3.2 million.

It makes no difference. Your odds are about 14 million to one to hit a jackpot using the same numbers, choosing different numbers for each draw or letting the computer select your numbers. Each draw is unique and past draws have no bearing on future draws. The balls come up randomly for each draw. No numbers are more likely to hit based on past selections.

It's a lottery you cannot win with the same numbers as @vikingswest said the odds are about 10 to 14 millions to one to hit the jackpot

I think you have 2 million chances to win. In case you're lucky, it's by chance.

Some people like to play their own numbers for fun. Very few will hit the jackpot that way and it's still random. It's no different than getting a quick pick. It's that old saying, "luck of the draw."

Well I imagine that it wouldn't make much difference to be honest.. I think the odds of your balls being the winner is exactly the same as everyone else's. Use the same numbers I don't think would increase the chances of winning
