My Ten Favorite Instrument Titled Songs Part II

I guess when playing in a band all those instruments provide great motivation to come up with a song title using one as your theme. Too bad I could not find the same inspiration to stick with playing the guitar. Oh well, at least my older brother became a decent guitar player, and my cousin had some commercial success in Country Music when he formed a band with his wife named "Ballie and the Boys." They even performed at the Grand Ole Opry! So, I'll take some comfort from that and by enjoying these "5 final INSTRUMENT" selections. ***Which one of these tunes below inspires you the most, or do you have a better choice? My song list with comments... 5. Bang a Gong (Get it On)- This song is "Glam Rock" at its best with "T-Rex" delivering a tune with a driving beat. Marc Bolan's lyrics make no sense, but one look at the title gives you an idea of what this track is about... 4. Bang the Drum All Day- Todd Rundgren made a ton of money recording this party anthem of a song. Who can't relate to someone who decides to blow off work to "pound on that drum like it was the boss's head." 3. While My Guitar Gently Weeps- A George Harrison track featuring Eric Clapton on lead guitar is hard to ignore. After all, "Cream" always rises to the top, as does someone whose guitar playing is "God-like." 2. Mr. Tambourine Man- I like "The Byrds" version better than Dylan's. The group's cover was the only Dylan song that ever went to #1 in America. That tune helped convince Dylan to go electric and strongly influenced the Folk-Rock movement. TRIVIA CHALLENGE- NAME THAT TUNE! ***Here is my favorite choice for my #1 INSTRUMENT SONG. Can you figure out which song title it is from the clues provided... Words with quote marks provide valuable hints! #1- This is a song about all the strange characters this "Entertainer" observed while playing in a "bar." This musician toured several times with "fellow pianist" Elton John. The artist achieved his critical and commercial breakthrough with The Stranger (1977). The LP featured hits like "Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)" and "Only the Good Die Young," cementing this piano playing singer's status as one of the world's bestselling music artists of all-time. ***Can you name this artist and my-favorite instrument song? Hope you're "tuned into" the correct answer! Till the next one... Source- Wikipedia and songfacts.com

I think they made a movie about him, maybe a documentary. I always confuse him with Green Day, I am like even though not real punk rock oh they mean Billie Joel not Billle Joe and Billie Joe of Greenday Gets so much attraction, but I knew saw Billie Joel, was something made about him. I like them both. Think both important.

I love your No. 3 song. I don't know 4 and 5. For many years we didn't hear much popular music at all as we were out of range of the commercial stations and only got classical music on the national channel.

"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" was I think one of George Harrison's best songs. Oh my, no pop/rock music. So glad it was available in the U.S. Well, enjoy this popular song. It's the trivia answer...

That's funny. In part1 I asked about Piano Man. Nice list. Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Dueling Banjos, and the Guitar Man might be on part 3.

Is it Billy Joel and Piano Man? I think I remember Power Station with Robert Palmer singing Bang a Gong.

I like the harmonica, but my guess is the Tambourine, nothing wrong with that
