Catching Up: The Folding Dolly

We have been busy here and so happy to say that the rain moved out of our area pretty much on Friday with only a light mist and sprinkles of rain. Louisiana caught the brunt of the tropical system and areas closer to the coast. We ended up going to McComb Friday to pick up a folding dolly that I had ordered for hauling boxes into the Market. It wasn't supposed to be in until Saturday and I was surprised to get a notification that it arrived at the store on Thursday evening. We ran and got that to use on Saturday. This is a pretty neat dolly and breaks down in height by pushing a button on middle rung. The tray at the bottom fold up by putting a little pressure on it in up direction and then the wheels fold in. It's not terribly heavy, which is a big plus for me using alone, but also has more weight to it than I though it would. The dolly worked out good Saturday with only three trips to move boxes! I am glad it worked out for you. Is the dolly a toy?? The weather here is unpredictable. It rained in the evening, but now at night there is no sign of rain.

No, it is an appliance for moving boxes on. It was very useful and cut down on back and forth trips to the car for unloading because my hubby stacked at least 4 boxes on it to move at one time.

@Shivram59 My husband stacked 5 or 6 but the top one toppled and everything spilled out. It's only good for smaller boxes also, no bigger than 18" x 18"

@kareng I got it. It is really useful. Do you mean, you can even move more than four boxes with it??

I have one of those folding dollies here. It's at least 20 years old and still in good shape. It's nice to have it because it takes up a fraction of the room that the other dolly does. It's overcast and cool today. 58° right now.

Yes, and much lighter than the real thing! I'm sure I'll get lots of use out of it. OMG, 58??!!! It was 115F here today with the heat factor.

@Vikingswest1 Very nice! You are in one of the New England states right? We are thinking of visiting brother and sister in law in New Jersey soon. We will need long sleeves! And probably a jacket for evenings. Yikes!

@kareng We had mid 80's last week but it's back to highs of 70 and lows down to the upper 50's. I like it here.

Our heatwave has broken and we've had some rain. Not too heavy, so the ground could soak it up gradually. Thunderstorms were forecast, but so far nothing. Quite happy about that.

We have thunderstorms returning for Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun. That's a bit extreme, but it is what it is!

@Ronrybs Right and get drenched! We are helping the oldest daughter move out of her apartment this weekend. My husband said we won't get wet! I laughed and said she is upstairs, remember? You will have to walk down a flight of stairs...no running there and the the parking lot is a good 50 ft. away.

It rained the whole week here and it continues to rain. We have red alert for few more days. Many parts of the state are already flooded. That sounds like a nice folding dolly.

I hope the rain has stopped there now and it is drying up there. Are you in an area prone to flooding? I'm sure I am going to like using the dolly. It will save me a lot of walking and trips back and forth to the car when unloading for events!!

@kareng Though many areas flooded, our area was spared. The rain has subsided in the last three days but not completely stopped. It's drizzling the whole day. It's cold and damp. We had no luck with sun so far. We had no sun in the last 21 days.

I will appreciate it more when I have to unload all by myself. And this will be his excuse that "I don't need him anymore to help." I just know it!!

I didn't either! My husband just happened to see it on Tractor Supply's website. Harbor Freight had one too!

We have a dolly out in the garage I bought to move the fridge, washer and dryer when we moved into this house. We haven't used it since then. But it's not hurting anything sitting out there, either.

Right and it will be there whenever you need it again. This one folds up, bottom flips up and wheels turn inside. It doesn't take up but about 3 feet of room when folded up.

@DaddyEvil I am using it setting up for events and 2.5 ft of space is much better that a full size dolly with you already have a ton of boxes going into you vehicle. Yeah we have two dollies already, a regular one and an appliance dolly which is bigger. The point is something lightweight that I can handle, and not take up half of the space in the back of the SUV.

@kareng Yup! I didn't mind buying it. The full sized ones don't take up much room. I've parked ours under a bench in the garage so only the wheels and handle stick out into the room.

Our wet comes at the end of the week, Thursday and goes on through the weekend. So we will get all caught up on the rain we have missed in the last week. I was noticing that the garden needed some rain. I did not get back out there today to water it though. That feels like 115F was hot and sweaty!!
