I hear thunder …… i will be hiding in a cupboard if you need me !

Yes, we couldn’t escape it any longer. The weather forecasters have been saying for days that we were going to have some storms …and today was definitely the day.
It all started with a complete downpour of rain …oh my days, it came down so fast !
Next the sky turned a very funny dark shade …
Then , the rumbles started ….in a distance at first …then getting louder as it got closer.
I don’t mind the thunder but it is the lightening that I don’t like ….and sure enough ….it came !
Thank goodness it is all over now but streets are awash,

The day started off cool enough at 71F but is at 88F at 1:15 pm, heading for a high of 94F by late afternoon. Add in the 60% humidity and the RealFeel is 102F right now...
Trade you... I'll take storms with lightning any time over high heat!

@Traceyjayne Lightning doesn't bother me unless it startles me awake when it happens directly over the house. (The older couple have a lightning rod at the back of their house. Lightning striking that makes a LOUD boom!)

I don’t cope well with very high temperatures, but I take the trade of the lightening any day !

I love thunder storms. The lightning doesn't bother me if I'm in a safe place. It worries me when the forest fire danger is high like it is. Thunderstorms are rare here where I live, heck, it barely even rains from May through October. Today is overcast and 58° right now with a high expected of 68°
We had upper 80's last week and it's nice that it has cooled off.

I can’t even go by a window when there is lightening …and I definitely can’t go outside.
