Question: How close are you to your parents?

Today is a day... to mourn my mother, who died three years ago. I cannot help but think about her, particularly when I'm upset about something. I want to be clear that I am not a mama's boy. I just know that most of us have a stronger bond with our moms. From the moment we were born, they were our first teachers and our constant protectors. I applaud my father for being a wonderful provider, though, nonetheless. I am obviously closer to my mother than to him. What is your take on this thought? Image Credit: westcountrygalleries.co.uk

I was always closer to my father. He passed 30 years ago, very young, and I still mourn him. I wasn´t as close to my mom.

I guess this is what @DaddyEvil mentioned. I also remember him with all his good deeds before.

I'm close to mother for I'm the youngest of my 5 siblings. My father is always out to work but he never failed to take care of.

It is also the same thing here. Although I am still proud of my old man because he did all his best in the old days.

@Shavkat why is it you address father as old man? Is he not you biological father?

I think this is quite natural. I am very close to my parents, perhaps I am their only one child. As the weather forcast said the typhoone would attack here in the weekend. And it woule be bad weather for sure. So my husand and I went to live with my parents in the weekend. We had a peaceful good time and the typhoon didn't hit here directly and everything was still fine.

@Shavkat Yes, One Child Policy is changed but actually now people don't want to have children or even they are not interested in getting married. Probably the youngs think it's happliy to live alone since there are less costs and pressure. I hope the weather will get better in your side soon.

I heard that most couples have only one child in the past. Now, your country changed the policy and couple can have more than two children. We are still experiencing heavy rains up to this day.

It is also the same thing here. I miss them in different ways, though, but I am closer to my beloved mother.

I was very close to both of them because I was their favorite being the youngest among the girls.

I am glad that they do. My younger sister is my dad's favorite, and I am my mother's.

@Shavkat I wonder why parents have to play favorites. I don't have one in my children
