For a few weeks now Mom has been having trouble with her water …..not personally …lol….
When she runs the hot tap it simply takes an age to get hot water , sometimes it’s just cold and it take two or three attempts before the hot water comes through.
Anyway we phoned a plumber who had been recommended to us and he is coming later today. Hopefully he will be able to sort the problem without having to have a new boiler.

@traceyjayne We had to get a new boiler this year - £2000 - and all because the people we bought the house off 2 years ago never had the thing serviced. I do hope you mum's non-personal water problems get sorted swiftly and at minimum cost.

We are hoping it won’t come to a new boiler ….but we are ready if he says that’s what has got to happen.

Hopefully it is able to sort the problem without being too costly to the point where a new boiler is more cost benefiting.

Fingers crossed it will just be replacing a part not the whole boiler.

Good luck with it! It sucks to have to buy a new water heater and get it installed.
When the contractors checked to see what we'd need done to make the house more energy efficient last fall, they did a thorough inspection of the water heater and installed a heat jacket on it... They said the water heater was installed right before Pretty and I moved in so it should be good for another 20 years...

These sorts of problems are such a nuisance. I hope it doesn't end up costing too much.
