Potential Spam

How many times do you get potential Spam calls in a day. I hate for Monday morning to come, all day long. I was trying to exercise, and the phone kept ringing, each call said Potential spam. It has gotten on my last nerve. All day through the week. I have a friend who bought my phone for me, and it has the nerve to talk when it rings. It says hello Moto, and that drives me nuts. What is it with these spam calls? Not to happy at the moment. Do you get calls all day.

Nope... On my phone, all that happens when a spammer tries to call is I see a light blink and then the phone automatically hangs up on them and, if I look, in the call log it says "Potential spam". Your phone says "Hello Moto" because that's the ringtone you've got set up for it. You can change that if you want. Mine just rings like an old-fashioned landline phone when I have a call from a real person. Instructions to change your ringtone on your Motorola phone: On your phone, tap "Settings". It will open a page showing all the different settings available on that model. Look down the list offered and you'll see one called "Sounds". Tap that and it will give you another list of things. Find "Phone Ringtone". Tap that and it will offer you a long list of different ringtones your phone can use. On that list, you can touch each one and the phone will demonstrate what that sounds like by ringing twice for each ringtone you touch. When you hear a ringtone you like, tap "OK" at the bottom of that page without touching anything else on the phone and it will lock in that sound as your ringtone. (After touching "OK", the ringtone page closes back to the "Sound" menu. Touch the back button until you see your homepage on your screen and you're done.) Please tell me if you need help with anything else on your Motorola phone. I'll do my best to help you with it.

I seldom pick up numbers I don't recognise. If it is an important call they'll leave a message

No, because my phone tells me what is potential spam. I will sometimes ask for a message, and they hang up which lets me know they are truly spam.

I don't receive spam calls often. When I don't recognize the number, I don't answer the call, and then I block it if I think it's a spam call.

My phone alerts me to potential spam calls. I have a rule. I won't pick up a number I don't recognize. If it's an important call, they will leave a message with a callback number.

I get may be two or three spam calls a day. I block the numbers but they just keep on a coming … sometimes I do play along with them, if I am in a mischievous mood.

I've had many last week and ignored them all. I know their scheme already and I think that they try to use different phone numbers so that I would not suspect any of them. But I knew them already and know their modus already. Good thing that there are apps out there that could ID those that are potentially spam unfortunately here there is no such things yet available.

I usually put it in the blacklist if the number is not recognized maybe they are bored because I never pick up the phone.

In my phone, if it is a potential spam, the background of the number is red

There were months when our landline was down...long story. I think people got tired of calling. I rarely get a call now.

None at all. We don't have a home phone. My mobile phone will only let calls from people on my contact list phone me

Because I have identified certain calls as spam my phone does not ring. I can see that I have been called but they are labeled as potential spam. I think you can shut off the ring for the potential spam calls.

I’ve been getting a few calls the past few days…turns out they’re from a charity that I donated to in memory of my dear aunt of blessed memory. I hate that they spend money on soliciting more donations…as if I didn’t have the brains to find them and donate to them in the first place! I guarantee the donations henceforth will be anonymous. As for others, any that I do get come up on my phone marked “potential spam.”

Not as many as we used to. We block the spam ones.
