As the weather man explains it

Our weather is very hot, but also very humid, so even though we are sweating lots, it is not cooling us because it cannot evaporate. One thing I have noticed today is that I am craving salty snacks.. I got some cheese crackers at the store. I also bought a new flavor of Harvest Snaps--a snack brand that is baked and is based off of beans rather than potatoes or corn. Yes, I am thirsty. It was hot, but I did go ahead and mow some like I say I need to every day. I also refilled the birdbaths and watered my plants, and I have seedlings up in containers that I sprinkled lightly. Tomorrow I do not have any place to go, so hopefully I get some more yard work done for good measure. It never ends, you know.

Yes, some yard work sucks! The grass is getting tall again... I did pull some weeds and some mint out of the flowerbed early this morning while waiting for the tow company to jumpstart my car but it was too hot to stay out long. Pretty has been saying the yard needs mowed but hasn't gone out and worked on it.

You know how it is with a battery powered mower. I work until it quits. I think back to when we bought this place as everything was dry and brown. Now I have lush green and it is exhausting.

@GardenGerty I told the older next-door neighbor that I'd pay him to keep the back yard mowed (He was already doing it for free, anyway. He seemed happy that we can pay him now.) and he mowed the entire yard a few days ago except for the area against the house and around the car. I'm hoping it won't be too hot to go out and mow one morning this week just to even the yard up... Where the neighbor mowed the other day, the grass is brown and dry. After we get rain, I know the grass is going to take off again. I understand. I love this large yard but it's exhausting to mow the whole thing in one go.

It's hot and humid here too, you should drink lots of liquid to keep you hydrated so that it does not effect your body I do the same.

Hopefully tomorrow gives you a break from the sun or at least a nice breeze while you tackle the yard again.

you gotta be careful out int eh heat no matter what your doing, it can knock you down in a hurry I know when I get to hot it lets me know abut it. With the yard work I'm trying to get done is a on going thing & it's not all that big to work on.

Can I ask why you need to mow every day. It may give me some insight into why Yvonne seems to need to moan every day. Thanks lol

In a normal summer it would not be so much. I have switched to a battery mower and when the battery quits so do I. We have had a lot more rain, so I barely get the grass cut and it rains and grows overnight.

@GardenGerty A battery mower. Yvonne said I am not getting one of those I must keep pushing the pushy mower. She said it's the only exercise I get

If there is no where to go, it meant that you can slack at home. I love to slack at home.

You need the salt to replace what is lost in hot weather. Your body knows what it needs!

Enjoy your yardwork. Due to the heat, take care since it is like an oven outside.

Just try to stay hydrated as much as you can. Hot and humid makes the heat worse. It's rain creating havoc here in the last ten days, flooding and traffic congestion.

@GardenGerty Yes, rain has subsided. Flood has subsided. Luckily, our area was spared. It is always spared because it is a bit on high level than other parts of city. We get clouds and whole day drizzling in the last one week. No real rain as such We get cool weather throughout the year, very pleasant one. We don't feel the thirst. But, I have made it a habit to keep sipping water at regular intervals to keep myself hydrated.
