Daffodils do not grow where I live and I doubt if they grow anywhere else in India.
I have not seen daffodils although I have travelled to many countries but have to be satisfied by just looking at the photos.
I was introduced to daffodils while in school when we had to learn the poem on 'Daffodils' by William Wordsworth 'I wandered loney as a cloud'
Here it is

They will not be great if you find them in abundance. That is the sad part of life,

Now they can still be great when found in abundance
one can see them every day
And be blown away by them just the same as the person who sees them only once

That’s such a lovely connection. It’s amazing how a poem can introduce us to something we’ve never seen often in real life, yet still leave such a lasting impression. Wordsworth’s “Daffodils” really has that magic—painting vivid images with words.
I was lucky enough to see real daffodils many years ago in my sister’s garden in New York. Seeing them in full bloom brought the poem to life—it felt like stepping right into that peaceful scene Wordsworth described. Even now, the memory of those golden flowers swaying in the breeze sticks with me. Sometimes, poetry makes distant things feel surprisingly close.

Wordsworth was my favourite poet. There were other peoms written by him that I enjoyed.
You were lucky that you got to see daffodils in bloom.

@allknowing I love daffodils. They are so easy to grow in Ireland and they come up year after year. I have lots of clumps of them in my garden and this autumn I intend planting a lot more. Wordsworth certainly popularised them and that’s why the country is awash with them every spring.
