The joy of planting dahlias

We had a dahlia plant while we were in the city. It came from a tuber that I bought online The tuber had to be kept in storage until it sprouted. I gently placed it in a pot and saw it coming to life. In days it grew to be a healthy plant. All what it needed was some good soil and water. My joy had no bounds when I saw the first bud and then waited patiently for it to bloom It was a red dahlia, though small in size. As the plant grew I got a number of dahlias on that plant. It made my day I wish one day I will grow one that looks like what you see in the photo Image credit:

@allknowing I'll have a look..it is labeled dahlia..but I haven't seen one bloom yet.

You brought back memories. My grandmother had dahlias of many different colours in her garden. She loved to show me those she liked more.
