So, we moved into this house 5 years ago . There is a small pond in the back garden, that obviously was part of a waterfall water feature in years gone by. The Mister is planning a new, big, unique waterfall feature of his own and was going to keep the pond part. Yesterday he decided to clear out all the rubbish….leaves and twigs etc ….that had built up in the pond since we had lived here.
It was a bigger job than he thought …the pond was bigger and deeper than we first imagined. The job was eventually done. He is wondering now whether to repaint the pond or buy a new one ….the cost of the paint and a new pond would be roughly the same. The pond we have is fibreglass whereas the new one would be plastic. The Mister would like to keep the original one if possible.
This is going to be an ongoing job …he is making his own water feature and I guess that is months away from being completed.
Watch this space !
Oh yes, and when some of the weeds were removed, the Grandson saw something growing that he recognised ….somehow at the back of the garden we have two tomato plants growing …

My first wife and I built a waterfall, stream and pond at our second house... It was a lot of work but we loved sitting beside the pond and watching the fish swim in it. (We stocked it three times. Twice, a Blue Heron stopped by and ate all our fish.
We put screen wire over the pond after stocking it a third time and the Heron was upset because it couldn't reach the fish it could see swimming in the pond.
)
I hope your hubby has a good time designing a new waterfall feature and pond in your yard. Good luck with it!

It is going to be quite big from what he has said ….it will take a few months as he only has the weekends to work on it .
