Roast Lamb dinner and rice pudding……

So, we go to my Moms on a Sunday for lunch. I didn’t know what we were having until we got there today .
Lucky us ….a roast lamb dinner, with mashed potatoes, cabbage, cauliflower, gravy and mint sauce. For pudding we had rice pudding ….home made, with a nice dollop of blackcurrant jam.
All very delicious.
What did you have for dinner today ?
Do you like roast lamb ?

As long as lamb is still hot from the oven, I love it. Once it's allowed to cool, even re-heating it doesn't make it taste good anymore. I've only eaten lamb as burgers, though. I might feel differently if I tried something else.
Pretty was asleep when I went to see how she wanted her steak cooked last night so I made myself a burger without a bun and steamed veggies instead. I'll cook the steaks this afternoon for our late lunch if she's awake when I go in to start cooking.
It's called shepherds pie no matter which meat base you use here.

We had a joint of lamb ….ive never had lamb burgers. Apart from a Sunday roast we use lamb mince ( you say ground ) , to make shepherds pie and moussaka

@DaddyEvil if you are using beef it is a cottage pie. If you use lamb it’s a shepherds pie. It’s because shepherds look after sheep. ( you’re welcome …. lol )

It is only 10AM here. Not sure what I am having for dinner. We took out grandson, wife and great granddaughter out for breakfast at 7AM. I had eggs, bacon, pork sausage, hashbrowns.

Yes, lamb is expensive here too so we don’t have it all the time. Maybe once a month.

Salmon is one of my favourites but in recent years I have become allergic to it ….and prawns.
