He Lost Himself

I visited and slept at my aunt's house the day before today. I felt bad that her neighbor hanged himself and ended his life. According to hearsay, he was asking for some money from his friends, but no one gave any to him. I assumed that he lost his mind and did the unthinkable option. In my mind, he might be in a depressed state, and no one did not think it was happening.
Can I ask some prayers for him?

@cherigucchi You said it right. I guess he cannot find someone to lean on at that moment.

That is unfortunate to hear. I believe he tried to seek help, but no one heard his cries and concluded that ending his life would shorten it. I just pray and hope for peace because I know the noise could have been unbearable for him and a simple gesture of sympathy could have saved him, but it appeared that no one heard or felt his desperate need for it.

@Shavkat A person in this kind of situation often needs someone to listen to them. Unfortunately, it can sometimes be too late to realize the signs. I had a cousin who went through a similar experience after a difficult breakup with his girlfriend. In the days leading up to his tragic passing, he posted a picture of a rope knotted as if prepared for hanging, but no one recognized it as a warning until it was too late. He never directly asked for help, but his posts gradually revealed subtle hints of his struggles.

@rsa101 I am sorry to hear this. It happened to one of my distant relatives, too. For this old man, there are some people persuading him to stop bothering the young man now. They are his support system. I just hope that they have the patience of dealing with this undying sentiments.

Sometimes people do odd things. I'm sorry that happened and hope your aunt doesn't feel at all responsible for it... You never know what someone is thinking for sure.

@DaddyEvil It is a sad thing, and people around him are feeling guilty for not stopping him. I am not that closely acquainted with him, but he is a good and jolly soul. This time, he lost a support system that cannot attend to his personal concerns.

@Shavkat How do they think they could stop him? Someone who wants to end themselves will find a way no matter what other people think, do or say.

@Shavkat He may have but there wasn't anything anyone could do if he did. People like that are called "ticking time bombs" for a reason. You never know if something will happen to push them over the edge or when...
