The saga of next doors drive ….update…. / myLot

So I posted the other day that the neighbours were having their drive altered from being on an incline to having it flat with steps at the doors. Problem being that they had about 10 inches of our land. You could see it quite easily especially as if they put a wall where they said we wouldn’t be able to open our garage doors. Anyway, this morning the lady of the house, Amy, was in so I popped round to see her and explain the situation. She said they had spoken to The Mister, but we explained more about the path/wall/garage….. Pleased to say she understood and has told the workmen where to take the wall from. They are working on it now and we won’t be back til Friday so hopefully it will be as we have agreed.

@traceyjayne I hope that works out. I have friends whose neighbours decided to build an extension. My friend is an architect and looked at the plans and saw that the neighbours were planning to cut down my friend’s trees to accommodate their plans!! Hadn’t even asked. It didn’t happen.

That’s good that it was spotted. The way they were doing the drive it would have meant that we wouldn’t have enough room to safely get out of our car. We would have had to take up some of our garden ….grass , and a tree if we had to park further over. Tricky part was , only the lady speaks good English and she works shifts , so getting to speak to her was difficult. They had originally said nothing would be happening for about three weeks, yet when we got home in Saturday, just a few days after they spoke to The Mister they were already digging up the drive !
