Squirrelly Day

Today was squirrelly, no doubt. The, ahem, highlights included springing my great-nephew from his hospital prison, a mad dash for an air conditioner, and a strange detour. My niece’s A/C broke in her house. Since she’s renting, she had to rely on the landlord. The repairman wasn’t too prompt, so she ordered a window A/C from Lowe’s and I went to pick it up for her while she busted her son out of the hospital. After that, I was on my way out of town when my GPS kept rerouting me for “road closures.” Bottom line: it had me on a collision course with Nashville traffic at rush hour. Listen, Nashville is no fun to drive through at 3 AM, but 3 PM is out of the question. So I went home and took a nap. After the nap I headed south. While I’m not through Nashville (I’m in Bowling Green), I’ll be able to skirt through it when traffic is just a nightmare (not during rush hour when it’s an impossible nightmare). Believe me, there’s a lot more to it than this, but it was a blessed day despite the craziness!
