One of my favorite shows was a western show called "The Virginian" One of the best episodes, that is a favorite of mine and a lot of other viewers is called "Felicity Spring" mainly starring the great actor James Drury (The Virginian) along with guest actresses Katherine Crawford (Felicity Andrews) and Mariette Hartley (Kate Andrews). The story goes that Kate and her younger sister that were adults came with their grandfather to the town of Medicine Bow in Wyoming where Felicity became the school teacher for the children. Kate and The Virginian fall in love and are going to marry. Before the wedding Kate sees how much money he is investing in a home for him and his bride and per her grandfather's influence she tells The Virginian the truth about their family history and Felicity's health. It turn's out that the bride has the same fatal disease that her mother had! And the girls father killed their mother then himself! However The Virginian decided he was going to marry Felicity anyway. She passed away. I read something the other day where actor James Drury and Katherine Crawford could not stand each other. You sure couldn't tell that from that show!!!! That's was the best episode of "The Virginian" show! Therefore that was great acting!

James Drury was very good. We used to watch The Virginian every week when we were kids. And Bonanza and The High Chaparral too. I quite liked Westerns back in those days

It was funny because when I was a kid my favorite show was " Gunsmoke" . My sister and I would race home after school to watch "Wagon Train".On the weekends we would watch "Bonanza" and "High Chaparral". I still watch the repeats and other shows as an adult.

I used to watch many of the westerns. The Virginian was a favorite. I liked James Drury and the part he played. I learned that he raised some of the horses used in the show. I found that interesting. I have always enjoyed Marietta Hartley's acting. What a sad episode.

It would take extra good acting if you had to do romantic scenes with someone you couldn't stand.

"The Virginian" ran from 1962 to 1971 but the repeats have been on many various networks and channels.
