So, after my fall in April I have had to wear a brace on my badly broken upper left arm. There was a strap that held it in place that was wrapped around my body. This could not be taken off at any time.
I could not get it wet.
You don’t realise the things that you are not going to be able to do in that situation until it happens to you.
So today the brace finally came off.
Yay !
So what am I looking forward to ……
Having a shower
Being able to wash my own hair
Being able to brush my hair and tie it back
Being able to cut up my own food
Being able to pull my own pants/trousers up
Being able to tie my own shoelaces
Being able to change my earrings
Being able to cut and file my nails
Being able to sleep lying down instead of sitting up
Many other things too ….and these won’t happen all at once …..but it will be great to be able to do them all again …..

That's fantastic; It's hard to believe it has taken so long to get some basic function back When will you be able to do PT?

@Traceyjayne Hmm, I know is these things go. You will probably have to call them once or twice a week until you get some action.

I feel so much better now, although my arm does feel weird without the brace

That's good what happened to you? Why did you fall? Sorry for what had happened to you.

@Traceyjayne oh sorry that would be painful. Hoping it's getting better and to completely heal any time soon.

I just slipped in the kitchen in April. I hit the quartz worktop as I fell.

I'm sure none of us realise how such an accident can impact on our lives.

Just now
Having never broken a bone before I certainly didn’t. I will be more mindful of others in this situation though that’s for sure !
