A large meteor that was seen traveling in the sky over Georgia as well as a piece of space debris that happened on Thursday June 26 did cause minor damage to the roof of a home.
Officials with the American Meteor Society (AMS) mentioned that the large meteor that creates a sonic boom as it fell from the sky and damaged a roof in McDonough in the afternoon.
The good news is that no one was injured in the incident with the meteor. It does concern me if a meteor was ever to be around my neighborhood.

My concern would be an auto crashing into the home or debris from an aircraft in the area falling down on a roof.

I guess it would depend on how big it was and how fast it was going
If it hit a gas pipe it could take the whole house out.
It might be a total rebuild

It is scary to think that space debris would harm a roof.

I hope that that house's owner has insurance to cover that, and it is a rather nasty event to happen to anyone.
Perhaps, the authorities should develop some system to catch these stray meteors before they cause damage.

It is a good idea for the authorities to develop a method to catch the meteors.

I'm glad no one was injured; but that's very cool to have a real meteor from space.
