I Was Attacked.

It's like those mosquitoes already have a plan on how they will attack me very early in the morning when I'm still defenseless.
I turned on the fan, plugged in a mosquito repellent and wear a sarong over my shorts. But still, they feasted on my feet. It's like their having a buffet down there. It's like I am their early morning buffet. Those mosquitoes are bloody thirsty.
So after preparing hubby's packed lunch and breakfast. I immediately went back to the room. Maybe I have to wear an armor when I get out.

Mosquitos smell the carbon dioxide you breathe out and hunt for you. I'd be willing to bet you have O-type blood, too. That's their favorite flavor and they will home in on you and attack any area that's not covered, or in a breeze too strong for them to fight.
Mosquitos LOVE me and try to carry me away when any find me... Putting a small amount of cooking oil in the culvert behind our house has kept them away for two years now. (One of our neighbors complained about the slight smell of rotting veggie oil but I can't smell it. Even if I could smell it, I'd much prefer that odor than being eaten alive by mosquitos!)

@rakski As long as the water is moving, mosquitos can't lay eggs in it. But if it's still, then they can. You only need enough oil to see it all the way across any puddles that stick around for a week or two. That makes an oil barrier that mosquitos can't lay eggs through and baby mosquitos can't break to molt and become adults.

I'm guessing mosquitos breed well after rainy days because there are so many stagnant bodies of water to breed in. I noticed that in my area as well; after rains, they would come in droves, but because my apartment is on the fifth floor, they couldn't stay for long because there isn't much stagnant water, and they would look for a place to lay eggs.

That’s horrible isn’t it ….can you get a spray ?
I saw someone recently in cape Verdi that was wearing bands in their ankles to repel the mozzies.

Mosquitoes are really a pest and causes a lot of disease. I have nets fitted in all my windows and am safe from their attack.

Mosquitoes will find any bit of exposed skin to feast on.
