Speaking Of Toilet Paper - Should it Always Be White?

Most toilet paper is the color white.
Why isn't it yellow or brown?
There is novelty toilet paper where you can wipe your butt on Santa's face, but who wants to do that?
I seem to remember several decades ago that you could buy colored toilet paper, I seem to specifically remember blue.
Do you think toilet paper should always be white?

I would think a lot of that would have to do with health reasons. You don’t want dye in sensitive places. Additionally, when the toilet paper is white, you can automatically see if there are issues with bleeding or other problems that need medical attention.

@looeyville I think white is preferred because bleeding will be more readily seen on white. I have (had) a friend who had seven rolls on holders on her bathroom wall beside the potty, one for each day of the week and all different colours. Especially striking were the black, red and emerald green rolls. Each roll had a day of the week written above it and she probably knew if anyone used the wrong colour on the wrong day.

Yeah. I think most is white because it gives the impresson of cleanleness. So, that's why it is I think. Who'd want to clean their butt on something that might look dirty...?

My son, when he was in his teens, bought some pre soiled toilet paper as a prank on his mother. The paper had "stains" printed onto it. It was disgusting. The "stains" were printed on every third or forth sheet. The roll would look normal until you pulled some off to use.
My wife had a cow. We still laugh about it twenty years later.
White only here. I've seen colors and printed tissue and faces and money and countries and even some with Green Bay Packers helmets (for the Viking fans).
But white makes the most sense.

I don't care as long as there is toilet paper and it serves its purpose, I used to buy colored toilet paper in my younger days to make paper flowers with pipe cleaners. Online it says that France prefers pink toilet paper,

I think it should be. You don't want all that dye going into your system.

I can remember seeing different colored toilet paper over the years. I am leery of the dye.

I remember buying a four-roll pack of toilet paper made to look like $100 bills... That was back when I was in my twenties... I'd be worried about the dyes in it if I had some of that now.

We have white ….my Mom used to have pebble …it was a sandy colour …it suited the bathroom but they stopped making it so she has white now too. I remember seeing blue and pink and peach ….i think mostly it’s white that is available these days ….it goes with every bathroom.

It would be nice to see toilet paper being sold besides white since many of us like variety.

Aside from what @FourWalls said, I remember something about producing paper products with color and the environment. I don't remember exactly what was the reason for sticking to white paper products.

I think it's no because I like the colors of tissue papers here and that is blue and pink.

I don't care what colour it is
It mostly ends up a shade of brown anyway before it gets flushed into our rivers by evil water companies.
My message is simple - use a Wash Cloth
