Got a Lick of Work Done

This cooldown has been a blessing in more ways than one. For one, it's a little respite from what's been ball busting heat. For two, between yesterday and today, I was able to get a lick of much needed work done. On Thursday, I got the backyard cut. I could have done more, but it was a day with mom and I had errands to run. But today I was able to cut the front yard, get the side hill done (which my wife normally does because she is worried that I will hurt my back), I got all the weed whacking done which had gotten rather behind, plus did a lot of trimming back of other weeds and vegetation that grows along the fence. I've been working with the pool as well which has turned back to a slight hue of green. Ugh. It is what it is. I deadheaded my marigolds, and trimmed some of those down a bit, and got everything watered. All in all I'd say this was a very productive day, and I am looking forward to the next few days we have left of this little cooldown. The AC was turned off last night and the windows are open. So, that's nice too, plus the kitties love it when they can hang out in the windowsills. Onward and upward.

@Ineeddentures It's just getting attacked by algae. We got it blue again and it lasted for about a week before starting to turn again. It's a never ending battle sometimes.

@porwest Why is it not going blue? I don't like green water

Thank you. I'd put a lot off due to the heat. It really needed to be done.

@garymarsh6 We'll have this cooldown through to about midweek next week, then the heat comes back. I'm going to take advantage of whatever I can in the meantime. When we were having feels like temps in the 100s, it's just too much, plus with high humidity, almost unbearable.

@porwest I can cope with the heat but definitely not the humidity it just drains the life out of you. Keep cool!

I'm glad you got a much-needed cooldown. It's been sweltering recently here, too. And, I've been hiding inside.

I felt the same way through most of it. After a while it's just too hot. It's as simple as that.

We actually were laughing the other day, because after we got it back to blue the last time, we went on a camping trip and left the pool to its own resources and came back to pristine blue. Now that we've been back it's inched back toward green. Maybe we have to leave town again. lol

It's a great thing. It's not that I am in any way complaining about summer or looking forward to fall and winter. But the heat has really been a kick in the butt. So, this is nice.

@porwest I wonder if it's the heat that is causing so much distress?

@LindaOHio That's a part of it, for sure. It makes ripe breeding ground for algae, which is the problem.
