The other day I went to the local recycling centre to get rid of a few sacks of weeds, a couple of old camping chairs that even I can’t revive, and some rocks.
As I tossed the rocks into the rubble skip – which is also the same one used for ceramics and glass – I saw that someone had been having a clear-out of assorted crockery and that seemed to include a no-longer-wanted collection of unicorn items. And although they had put them in the skip, they had put them fairly carefully near the edge – maybe they thought someone might want to pick them out.
Well I did, of course. Not that I need any more clutter or even have a fondness for unicorns, but I thought they might appeal to someone. I took them home and gave them a good clean, and tomorrow I will take them to a charity shop.
Hopefully someone will be pleased to buy them at a bargain price and the charity will gain a few pounds as well.

I expect some little girls might love them!
Here they collect garden waste like grass, thin branches and weeds and it is shredded up and made into compost for farmers. I actually have eight compost bins at home because of course I also want lots of compost but home composting doesn't get hot enough to kill some perennial weeds, or seeds of some plants like thistles, so I have to get rid of those.

It’s great that you could rescue them. I’m sure there will be several little girls who would love those.

Score. Someone will be really happy that you rescued them. It's nice that a keen eye and a little bit of effort on your part will help others. The Goodwill store here used to take items, clean them up and resell them at discount prices. It seems that post Covid, they take in less donations by restricting what they take, they don't bother cleaning them up and the discounted prices are much higher than they were.
Years ago, I loved to find items there that were gently worn and cheap. I would refurbish them, maybe new paint or by repairing parts and resell them for profit.

It's actually against the rules to take anything out once it has been put into one of the skips, I had to make sure none of the staff were looking before slipping them into my car.
Charity shops here are very fashionable nowadays. Long ago it was somewhat shameful to be seen going into one and they were rather dingy places with a funny smell, but now they are very trendy and therefore more expensive of course, but you can still get some great bargains there. I confess that's where most of my clothes come from!

Those are cute. I used to collect unicorn and horse stuff. Back then I would have grabbed those
