Saturday Update

Happy Saturday Everyone! what a beautiful day here today. The temperature is delightful and looks like a nice weekend.
Yesterday I had a doctor appointment for my knees. Seems that they are filled with arthritis so he is starting me with steroid shots and a prescription for inflammation/arthritis. So far the shot has helped and I'm in much less pain so my fingers are crossed that it lasts for the next few months and I can get back to doing more than I've been able to.
It was the first night in a long time that I got a good nights sleep without waking up numerous times with the pain.
My daughter is going out shortly to run a few errands so she'll pick up my prescription so I can start taking it tomorrow.
No exciting plans for today but I do want to sit outside and enjoy the gorgeous day.

I'm glad you're getting relief from the arthritis and hope you continue pain-free.
Nothing happening here. It's a beautiful day at 80F but I can only look out and enjoy it that way. *shrug*

Yes, the bright sun will/does hurt but my eyes are swollen almost closed so I can only see blurry shapes more than a foot away. If there's something in my path, I only see a blur and could trip and fall. I'm scared of breaking a bone. When I fell on our front porch two years ago, I got a bone bruise on my hip that took months to heal. I only walk around IN the house by holding a wall or the doorways or with Pretty's help.

Its a shame you have to enjoy the day from inside but I guess being outside would affect your eyes?

I'm glad the shots have helped. They usually last 6 months. This weather is lovely. Too bad it's not going to last. Nothing going on this weekend as usual.

At this point I'll be happy to get rid of as much pain as I can even if I'm not entirely pain free. If anyone understands pain you certainly do.

We were lucky to have a reprieve from all that heat and humidity for a few days. Now we're back to hot weather but it doesn't seem as humid.

So far it's been a few days and the pain is still mostly gone. I almost feel like a new person

Hopefully the shots will help for awhile and not be a short term solution. Its kind of weird being mostly pain free when I've been dealing with this pain for so long it's just something I've become used to.
