Bad Hubby!
Now I don't mind Oliver jumping up on the couches or beds or anything.
But now he meows incessantly to be picked up to be placed on top of the countertops and dressers. He can't quite make those jumps but he wants to be high up.
It's hubby's fault. Oliver didn't know what "high up" was until hubby kept putting him up on top of things. Now the cat wants it all the time.
Also, I used to leave a glass of water on my nightstand in case i needed a drink in the middle of the night but now Oliver has learned to walk over from the bed to the nightstands and I can't let him knock it over.

Hubby created a monster. Nico will jump on the tables on ocassion, but he has never jumped on the counter top that I can remember. It isn't his thing. My cat before him liked to jump on top of the fridge, that was his thing.

A single trick cat can learn it and he couldn't forget it.
