I have had memorable and amusing days while I taught before. One of the incidents I will never forget was the time when my teen daughter came to my classroom before my Clinical Chemistry class. It was urgent, and she needed my signature. When she left, my students were all curious. "Who was that, Ma'am?" someone asked boldly. "She looks like Angel Locsin." Angel Locsin was a local movie star. "She's my daughter!" I replied. The student was visibly surprised, "...But why is she so beautiful?" I was unable to reply, and as realization dawned on the curious student. Many laughed. "Because I'm ugly? Is that what you mean?" I finally retorted. I pretended to be furious. "No, no, Ma'am," the student was apologetic. I guess her outburst was innocent. Her classmates were still taunting her, making her feel guilty. "Well, she takes after her father. My husband is a good-looking man, " I proclaimed with a smile on my face, as the class erupted with cheers.
