I have an account at a Site where they invite poems and also have contests
I did post a few but what is more trying is to keep reading poems of others and rate them. I find that quite a tiring exercise. It seems like a give and take policy You rate them and they will rate you
I would have preferred if there was a team that took that decision
What do you think?

@rsa101 Nothing to do with quality but number of votes

Here you get paid for what you receive even though it could be a pittance. There there is no guarantee.

I used to be on a site like that but didn't like reading the "poems" that other people wrote, let alone putting a rating on them.
It's the reason I don't read poetry on myLot.

@allknowing Reading poetry other people write is boring to me, too.
I have notebooks full of poetry that I wrote when I was in my late teens and early twenties and then stopped writing.

And there is no guarantee the best will win. It is a matter of how many have rated a poem

Contests there are tough. You have to rate other poems and that means reading poems of others that could be boring I have lost interest.
