A sunflower of sorts

@TheHorse wrote about his sunflower so it seemed timely to put up with iron sculpture of a sort-of sunflower. It’s in the garden of the farm where I grew up which now belongs to my cousin and her husband. I’ve put up a few photos of the quirky bits and pieces that they’ve made from odds and ends. The emu at the front gate is probably most impressive but I like this too.
In other news, this afternoon we have an appointment at the bank. You can’t just walk in now and see a ‘customer service officer’. That’s a misnomer if ever there was one. They really, really want you to do all your business over the internet. We couldn’t even manage to get any sense out of them over the phone but at least we have an appointment now.

Nice photos of the farm that you grew up with in your younger days which now belongs to your cousin and her husband.

I had to make an appointment too. Those flowers need a coat of Rustoleum.

I haven't planted sunflowers in years. The last few years that I did, I just left them for the birds to eat. Then the squirrels caught on. They would remove the entire head and drag them away. There would be little squirrel fights in the back yard over who got the prize. Most often, two squirrels would be locked in battle and another one would steal the prize. I think I'll plant some next spring.
I haven't been into a physical bank in over a decade. I have turned into the perfect customer for them. Everything I do can be done online or by using the menu on the phone. I would imagine it's hard to reach a real person in 2025. I would have never thought that you couldn't just walk in and speak with an agent, that an appointment was needed. But here we are I guess.
My mom's brother had a farm. I spent many summers there as free labor. I didn't see it in a bad way though, it was fun and I learned a lot about farms and critters.
My uncle liked to dabble in some farm art too. He used to use old parts in some and he also made animal cutouts. He would let me grind down his welds and he taught me how to weld after I was older.
I wish I had photos. It's all gone now.

I don't know how it is in the bigger cities but we can still walk into our bank branch and talk to real people when we need/want to. (I'm usually glad Pretty took over my bank account. Every time I tried to go online to do some banking matter, the online site said my password was wrong.
I'd call someone at the bank and complain and tell them my password and they said they fixed it for me. It never did work right. Pretty has virtually locked me out of my bank account now because she's using it online... I hate having to ask her anything about it because it's MY account.
)
Good luck with your banking appointment.

Thank goodness we still can walk inside a bank and talk to whoever we need to talk to without an appointment. The sad thing is they are trying to get us to not interact with other people in person as they can't hear what we talk about. On line they can track us, see what we talk about, and with digital money, they will know exactly how much money we have anytime they want to know, plus they can freeze your account without you even knowing until you try to use it. Scary..too much power over people...which is exactly what The New World Order is all about.
