After years of staring at my old aquarium and saying, “One day I’ll replace you,” that “one day” finally came. I ordered a slightly bigger tank (because clearly my fish deserve real estate upgrades too
). Yesterday, I spent 6 long hours doing what felt like an Olympic sport—scooping sand, rescuing plants, hauling décor, and convincing my fish that I wasn’t trying to ruin their lives.
By the end, I was exhausted, soaked, and wondering if I should’ve hired movers for the job. But seeing the fish explore their new spacious home made it all worth it—they looked so happy, I swear one of them winked at me. Have you ever upgraded an aquarium (or any pet’s “apartment”) and felt like you deserved a medal afterward?

When I was raising and selling different species of fish and shrimp to different pets shops, I often upgraded the size of tanks or added new tanks for a new species... And yes, it was always a lot of work and I generally got soaked doing it.
I'm glad you're finished now and hope your fishies enjoy their new home.

@DaddyEvil Yes, I felt like they were screaming at me as I pulled them out of their comfortable place in my old aquarium. Their roots were already well-rooted in the substrate. My tank is still adjusting, so it's cloudy, but it's much clearer than it was last night.

@rsa101 I hope you feel 100% again soon. I know the plants take a couple of weeks to get over the shock of being moved into a new aquarium.

I too was wondering where you had disappeared. You have a lot of catching up to do here
Would love to see a photo of your new aquarium

I don't have one, I was about to have it when I was in highschool, my cousin gave me a little aquarium, when I was a bout to buy gold fish, my dad said I need to buy oxygen first, and that's it! My hope fly in the air, lol! That's the end of my aquarium memory.

@luisadannointed Actually I have stopped when I graduated from college and moved on to the city and got married. After having my child the itch of getting the hobby went back and to this day I still am hooked to this hobby and enjoying it every moment despite the hardwork it needs to maintain it.

@rsa101 That's why! I think it is easy to have that hobby when your parents have the same hobby they will not stop you.

I was no longer excited with my tanks @rakski except for producing and selling aqua plants in the pet shop. I'm still just stuck with having guppies.
