I can attest that so far farm work is progressing well. I am also grateful to God because the climatic and weather conditions are quite favourable for most crop types and varieties around here in Western Kenya. My daily schedule still remains at beginning farm work from 4.00am, which I managed today. After farm work I examined a rare variety of soft / spongy sugarcane varieties which is most sought after by juice makers or vendors of sugarcane for chewing. From a single piece I have successfully gotten 6 “seedlings” which I am taking great care of at nursery level. When rains resume reliably, I will transplant them to the cane farms and take care of them very well. In them, I see a great fortune. An average 1kg piece of this sugarcane variety goes for Ksh.120 (USD 1). I intend to use these for propagation and in two years, raise the number to 1,000. I will do more research on how best to take care of this fortune.

That's great that those canes are doing so well. I hope it continues. Are there animals that might eat them?
