Two Things From History

The first one I had read about before but will bring up again here is about the Tower of London. In the 17th century King Charles II heard of a legend that held that if the ravens ever abandoned the Tower both the Crown and the Kingdom would fall. They still make at least six ravens to remain on the grounds at all times. More are usually kept as a safeguard. Also, Louis XIV's court at Versailles was the epitome of style and sophistication during his rein in France from 1643 to 1715. At the age of 17 (in the 1650s) he began losing his hair. By his 30s he had started to wear highly coifed statement wigs known as perukes. These became a part of his regal dress and a trend among courtiers and nobility. The hair condition was said to have been caused by syphilis and it's treatment.

I don't see how they can make the ravens stay unless they cut their wings or something. But it's a good story.

They've been doing it for many years. I guess if the birds know there is food they will come back there.
