Zone Perfect protein bars--very strange

I've never done the Zone diet but I've enjoyed their protein bars for a quick meal or snack for 25 years. They are high in protein and the flavors/textures are good rather than being chalky and gross like other ones. I keep them at work. This past year some of my students would always be asking me for snacks. Some wanted clementines, some wanted cheese sticks, some wanted diced peaches, etc. One girl saw the Zone bars in one of the cabinets when she was going to get a game and asked if she could have one. I said yes. She loved it! From that point on she would always ask for "chocolate bars". I kept telling her they weren't candy. Anyway they dropped off of Amazon and then the local grocery store several months ago. I was frustrated and figured there were just supply chain issues. I looked for them again a couple of weeks ago when I was making a list of things I wanted to buy for my snack supply. To my surprise I discovered that they had been discontinued! Since I am stuck here waiting on a call I just placed a grocery order on Instacart. Guess what was suggested for me? 2 flavors of Zone bars. The company stopped making them in March of 2024. So either they are making them again or ShopRite found some old ones in a warehouse. . . assuming it is not just an Instacart inventory error. I added them to my order. We shall see!
